Huntington was right the first time!
Reader comment on item: [President Bush and] Naming the Enemy

Submitted by Mike Lallatin (United States), Aug 17, 2004 at 20:53

Samuel Huntington stated in THE CLASH of CIVILIZATIONS that the problem is Islam, and that unequivocal statement identifies the core of 1300 years of criminal enterprise coupled with a social auxilary of extended membership.

We have to believe the official voices of Islam the way Hitler should have been believed three and four generations ago. No leader in the world should ever again state that Islam is "a religion of peace."

President Bush does not have to declare the opposite, but the removal of that phrase from his vocabulary needs to be notable in its absence. Every forum of discussion about any issues related to terrorism, anti-semitism, and Western versus Muslim values and human rights should include a link or reference to MEMRI.org. Just strongly suggest that it is a good idea to read what muftis and "scholars" and the like say to one another and their followers.

I read all of your articles, Daniel. Keep it up. Recommend Paul Fergosi's "Jihad in the West." School kids in particular will recognise where the inspiration for "The Lord of the Rings" came from, and they need to know that there really were heroes, not just inventions and fantasies.
