I must admit I'm suffering from the same mental deficiency. Now look at this tiny little shred of information: "Gazprom eyes all Libyan gas, oil exports" (Bloomberg.com) The whole Middle East is a bottomless apocryphal mess, laced with Russian energy worries and declining gas production.

Add to this rumors of Israeli oil and gas reserves ("Israel finds huge natural gas reserve off the coast of Haifa", 23. Jan 2009) and we have an equation of the fifth degree.
