Cold war, hot airReader comment on item: The Middle Eastern Cold War Submitted by Rebecca Moulds (United States), Jun 16, 2009 at 16:43 With people such as former President Jimmy Carter (who, incidentally escaped an attack on himself and his entourage today in Gaza) who continue to insist upon taking Hamas off the list of terrorist organizations, there is no end to war, whether a real battle or a continuing cold war in the Middle East. Any terrorist organization which is given legitimacy will, in the end, thrive unless it is acknowledged for what it is and wiped out. If this cold war is a silent war, it is because of the governments who wish to silence it, be it for the sake of tourism or other factors. It's true that Muslims will always support fellow Muslims, whether they are right or wrong, which means that joint religious belief clouds people's judgment to do what is right. And in the thick of all this stands Israel, a proud beacon of the Jewish people, a true miracle. Israel must continue to defend herself against her enemies, as she has always done throughout millennia.
