The Mystery Deepens

Reader comment on item: Assessing the Iranian Election

Submitted by Seymour Charles (United States), Jun 14, 2009 at 13:04

Another mystery: Having decided to retain Ahmadinejad as president, why didn't Khamene'i at least arrange for a more probable election result -- say a 52% vote for Ahmadinejad, rather than the ridiculously inflated 63%?

Maybe the Iranian regime is not as crafty as the West fears. Or could the posted results just reflect the grandiose needs and ambitions of meglomania Ahmadinejad.
