There are a lot more violent acts of Jihad against the Non-Muslims in the world; We are just blind to them.
Non-Muslims rarely read the Qur'an so they have no way of knowing about the mandate for all Muslims to defeat the infidels (Defeat = Convert, Conquer, or Kill, the essence of the "Struggle"). Rumsfeld, while in Singapore recently, said the war on terror doesn't stem the root problem.
He said we may be losing the broader struggle against Islamic extremism that is terrorism's source. Maybe the Christians can convert enough of them to stop their bid for power. The Roman Catholics dealt with the problem by mounting the crusades between 1000 and 1400. What do you think would turn the tide?
