Unspoken regardReader comment on item: India, the Most Pro-Israel Country Submitted by SHARAD BAILUR (India), Apr 30, 2009 at 10:31 Two points: First the Indian flag is wrong. Second, ever since I called Gamal Abdel Nasser a liar in an article I wrote for the Times of India in 1967, my regard for Israel has stemmed from their constant if distant friendliness. Long before Israel was officially accorded ambassadorial status they had a consulate in Bombay. Yaacov Morris the Consul became a good friend of mine. Subsequent consuls have also given me cause to think that they would be cordial, and the last one before the present Consul-General in Mumbai came especially to visit me at Anand. I admire the country and the people. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate. Daniel Pipes replies: Yes, the emblem at the center is the wrong color, but I went with it despite this inaccuracy to show the two flags together. Comment on this item
