Reader comment on item: Sharon Loses His Way On Israeli 'Settlements'

... on why Sharon has recently taken such extraordinary steps towards appeasing Israel's murderous enemies? First the prison release, and now this. From what epoch of Israeli history does Sharon learn that such steps would work? Or, if he doesn't think it will, why do it?

I'm at a complete loss.
