Agree completelyReader comment on item: Sharon Loses His Way On Israeli 'Settlements' Submitted by Rich McMahon (United States), Feb 10, 2004 at 13:16 Dear Dr Pipes,I could not be more in agreement with your thesis. Israel's total and unilateral withdrawal from the West Bank will be perceived as weakness, and hailed as a validation of terrorism. This will accomplish nothing of a positive nature. Further, it will actually cause greater peril to Israeli people, allowing terrorists greater access to mainstay Israel. Clearly, a prerequisite to such withdrawal must be widespread acceptance of the State of Israel, as demonstrated by repudiation and a prolonged cessation of terrorist acts of violence.
