How Many More Lives Must Be Lost Before We "Learn" Reader comment on item: Pipes' Dreams

Unfortunately, in recent years, the American way has been the way of denial. It's hard to accept bad news, but it's even harder for our politicians to defeat their enormous egos and admit their own policy mistakes. It is much easier to insist on being politically correct even if it will result in more innocent people being murdered.
The Clinton years were the times of unprecedented political correctness which was used in place of common sense. This kind of hypocrisy has made the public believe in a utopian world, detached from reality, much like the communist propaganda tied to institute a utopian set of values in a brutal attempt at social engineering.
Only the future will show how many more lives it will take for this country to call a spade a spade and assume an offensive (pun intended) stance in this war.
