Why the obsession about the Roman Catholic Church?Reader comment on item: Churches in Saudi Arabia? Submitted by Ron Larson (United States), Apr 20, 2008 at 21:52 I've noticed that when many Middle Eastern Muslims mention Christians, they seem to assume that the Pope speaks for all of them. Don't they realize that a large number of Christians are not Roman Catholic and have nothing to do with the Pope? I'm getting the distinct feeling that if somehow KSA allows a Christian church, it will be restricted to a Roman Catholic one. So they leave out everyone else. How would a Sunni feel about an assumption of a Shite Mosque being good enough for them (or visa-versa)? It would probably tick them off to no end.
