Non-student Members of Muslim involved with MSA activites both on and off college campuses.

Reader comment on item: MPAC, CAIR, and Praising Osama bin Laden

I would like to comment on Ms. Lekovic's contention that because she had already graduated, she was not involved with the school publication.

I attended California State University Bakersfield and graduated in 2005. I observed members of the Muslim community who did not attend college working together with the MSA both at CSUB and at Bakersfield College. Specifically, Emad Meerza paid speakers he brought to debates on the campuses.

A former president of Bakersfield College also told me that the Muslim Students Association on his campus had to fold into MeChA because they were caught with off-campus bank account, which violated the rules.

So, the fact that Ms. Lekovic was no longer in attendance at the school does not in any way prove that she was not involved. Perhaps it wasn't a typo, but rather giving her credit for work accomplished and which she decided was not convenient at this particular time.
