Um! Let us not look at through a Islamic Religious prism. Does this have any merits? I think it does!.

1. Provides (supposedly) a sterile environment. Afterall every surgeon has to cover the body Top to Toe to prevent infection. Why not here?

2. One can curse the entire world behind the Burqua and no body would notice.

The down side is:

1. It would frieghten children and would be too hot and suffocating.

I am sure it will go out of fashion no sooner than you think.
