Claim Of Prophethood by Rashad Khalifa

Reader comment on item: Muslims in the West
in response to reader comment: Is the Qur'an a dictionary? I do not think so!

Submitted by Rizal (Malaysia), Jul 4, 2006 at 00:35

Dear dhimmi no more, I do agree with you on whatever dictionaries you are using in defining the word prophet and messenger. What I am trying to tell you is...... Rashad Khalifa, when he claimed his messengership, he did it based on the Quranic explaination of the word prophet and messenger. As for your favorite words, Quran is not a dictionary which defines all your favorite words. I only would like to highlight on what basis he made such claim (as a messenger, not prophet). It is OK for you to believe and have faith in whatever dictionaries available. And it is ALSO OK if you do not wish to believe in [3:81], [33:7] and [33:40]. Rgds.
