EU-camps not possible

in response to reader comment: how to solve the Canary Island problem

Submitted by Mike (Sweden), Apr 28, 2006 at 06:53

Although camps may seem like a nice idea most refugees do not come from Morocco but from Western Sahara. Since the territory is occupied by Morocco, it is not only politically but also legally impossible for the EU to set up camps there.

Investing in for example Mauritania to increas job possibilities there would be a better way of dealing with the migration problems, since the major problem is poverty and unemployment.

What would you yourself prefer: Sitting in a camp or getting a job?
