Not to be fogotten - Muhammad was an Arab

Reader comment on item: The Revolt in Iran Lacks Leadership
in response to reader comment: (Re Nasser etc.) Islamic themes throughout Arab nationalists

Submitted by Robert (United States), Jan 11, 2023 at 14:25

Dear Nir,

It is absolutely natural that Islamic themes appear in Arab Nationalism, and that Arab Nationalists, or Pan-Arabists should invoke Islam because the Prophet was an Arab.

But secular nationalism and religious supremacy are to be distinguished.

PS: Does it necessarily follow (theologically, or by secular arguments) from the Arab biography of the life of Muhammad, that the non-Muslim world should be conquered by the sword, or by the gun?
