A 24 year old hitting a 75 year old is OK?

Reader comment on item: Salman Rushdie Was Never Safe
in response to reader comment: less safe with age

Dear Dr Pipes,
There is one more aspect of the violent attack on Rushdie by the Muslim attacker: In Islamic sensibilities it is OK that a 24 year old young man attacks an older person in his 70s. Note that there was no request from prominent Muslims like Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Keith Allison, the Ayatullahs themselves, Imran Khan, etc to waive the fatwa now due to Rushdie's age. Q5-33, Q8-12, Q9-5, etc make no special provisions for the infidels due to their age. What does Islam do to people's minds? Can some prominent Muslim make a call for forgiveness for Salman Rushdie?
