Motives of Incitement to be Reckoned as an Offense When There was No Need to Do So

Reader comment on item: Open Mecca to the World

Submitted by M Tovey (United States), Aug 5, 2022 at 13:42

As if, in the hate strickened environs of the Middle East, there is a perception that some have rationalized the necessity to keep fanning the flames of such passions, posing the question: what were they thinking?
There was no rational thought in 'invading' the supposed sanctity of the Muslim center of Islam any more than causing a furor over the Dome of the Rock, right?
But then there is the disparity; if Muslims are to be accorded the privelege to keep Mecca 'Muslim,' is it not fair play to allow the Jewish faithful access to the Temple Mount? This is where Islam fails in its practices.
