Criticism Does Not an Enemy Make

Reader comment on item: Do I Not Criticize Israeli Policies?

Submitted by M Tovey (United States), Dec 31, 2021 at 13:30

Criticism of Dr. Pipes in his decades of studying the issues that are the malaise of Middle Eastern politcal and hostile environs of religious antipathies is no more warranted than when the critic mentioned in Dr. Pipes' notice of his unpopularity in some circles (name not recalled on purpose for reasons of not wanting to give unwarranted credence) did nothing more than provide a differing perspective on a subject that is subjected to hostilities from all other sectors of international communities, the established State of Israel. It is certain from this observer's view that Dr. Pipes is no more an enemy of Israel than any of those in the Israeli government, such as in the Knesset, but of which are in varying degrees still trying to find the best interests to be followed.
If one wnats to find the record criticism of Israel, read the prophets and ask why Jeremiah was persecuted by the kings of Israel of his time. Who was the enemy of the Jewish kingdom of that time?

Daniel Pipes replies:

"Dr. Pipes is no more an enemy of Israel than any of those in the Israeli government, such as in the Knesset": good point.
