History Cannot Distinguish Between the Legend, Myth, or Reality of Muhammad-Neither Do the Successors

Dr. Pipes poses (actually has been posing the question for a lifetime) of how Islam is to survive if its Islamist mode of adherence does not achieve relevancy in a world that is in rejection mode of any religious attempts of domination, whether relevant to a majority population or not. Even during times when the conquest period leveraged many different variant religious pursuits of other national and ethnic tribal populations, Islam never achieved any single majority coverage of such populations; domination was never fully achieved, completed.
To the extent that Islam finds itself in resurgent attempts to regain that lost relevancy that as been mentioned is under duress during these times of abject rejection of supernatural things altogether, it can be seen that the battle of the ages of global dominance is forming in a way that no mere mortal will be able to discern how humanity can survive if nobody agrees to the terms of living in peace with one another.
No matter how one looks at which version of the Quran (Sunni or Shiite-authenticity of Muhammad's Arabic version or Persian translation), adherence is problematic since the rest of the religious interpretations are no going to be able to discern which if Islam cannot agree either. All that history will be able to do is record who won the latest round.
