Recognizing Zion in Islamic Context?Reader comment on item: Trump's Recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's Capital – What Does It Mean? Submitted by M Tovey (United States), Jan 22, 2021 at 20:04 DNM: If, as you have alluded to, there is a recognition of Zion in the Islamic Quranic conscience, where in the history of the subsequent attempts to subdue Zion to the Muslim consciousness commence, if not in the Arabic Sunni mindset, then the Persian Shia consciousness? And if so, as it was asked elsewhere, does this form the basis of the expectation of the arrival of al-Mahdi in Zion?
