Michael S and I have shared some regaling of similar thoughts in times past, though we are definitively of diverse observations when certain subjects are breached and we're looking through differing kaleidoscopes.
But when he approaches once again these issues of how Christianity does not appear today as the early Church once did and as noted in the pending collapse of Wester Culture, the 'message' of the cross has lost almost all of its salt; and those in the know have the pending sense something's not quite right in the world. From this perspective, totally different now than when I went through my catharsis of the sixties dramas, the sixties is when it all began to fall apart and Viet Nam was a symptom of the rupture of the tumor that attached itself to the core conscience of a failing belief system: the apostasy was here.
And for the record, it's not going away willingly; as the article of Dr. Pipes says, the leftists' ideological bents are not going away immediately in the short term, but here it is believed eventually they will get burned out. True Christianity will have already left the scene.
