Submitted by Frank Adam (United Kingdom), Apr 10, 2019 at 07:13

If the Americans and Arabs are playing the old tune with variations, Israel needs must too. On each of the previous attempts to settle with a partition compromise Israel agreed even with gritted teeth, but the Arabs rejected so hoist themselves on their own petard. If not immediately then by giving Israel opportunity to build up military, political and economic advantage for the next round.
Arab rejection of Peel let Israel to extend its possible borders. The Green Line hangs on the Tower and Stockade villages.
Arab rejection of UN181 allowed Israel to keep Jerusalem unconditionally and take the Green Line.
US bullying in 1949 and 1957 gave Israel the legitimacy to stay in her 1967 conquest till Arabs sign a peace.
Arab rejection of the 1967 post war Israeli offer to return to the Green Line for a peace unleashed the settlements.
PLO rejection of the Sadat offer to insist on a PA autonomy excused Egypt to make peace for itself.
PA rejection of the Barak and Olmert plans & Sharon leaving Gaza excused Israel from being partitionist.
If the PA, Hamas [and Iran] reject Trump's offer, it will just be ever more difficult to compromise.
When the seventh million of Israeli Jews complete at the end of this Knesset and US presidency, Israel will be half the World's Jews and its attraction to the Diaspora will accelerate even more than since 1967 triumph
Meanwhile Arab sponsored Antisemitism across the World will also accelerate aliyah.
Meanwhile the end of the fossil fuel era will enable the rest of the World to refuse to dance to Arab tunes.
