Burqa can be compared to Nazi regalia

seems to be the order of the day.

I notice that Burqa bans are gaining in popularity across Europe for BOTH security and symbolic reasons. Concerning the latter, note that there IS a precedent for banning the latter, namely, in banning Nazi regalia. To many Europeans and others, Islamism and even Islam are ideologically similar to Naziism in their attacks on Jews (in Qur'an, as well as in actions), drive for world domination and denigration of outsiders.
