Reader comment on item: "The Longest and Most Vicious Confrontation": An Interview

Submitted by Ben (Netherlands), Aug 30, 2016 at 18:36

Huntington did'nt take the clash of civilizations far enough.
Islam is not only anti-western but also anti-eastern. Anti-everything.
The real divide is between modern, multicultural humanistic civilization as a product of Karen Armstrong's Great Transformation in classical antiquity on the one hand, based on the universal 'golden rule' of equality and reciprocity, and the atavistic intolerant hate- and war religion of quran and islam, proclaiming war against the rest of the world, human rights, rationality and pragmatism.
