Dear Daniel Pipes,

I thing you give Sisi less credit than I do.

Look at this great strategic move which he just made
and the Analysis of it by Herb Keinon in The Jerusalem Post:
http://www.jpost.com/printarticle.aspx?id=451274

As Egypt the the most populous Arab state,
perhaps by linking to Saudi Arabia
through the proposed bridge to be built
that would link Saudi Arabia to Egypt through the Sinai
is just what is needed to bring substantial prosperity to Egypt
and place a significant and substantial damper on the Muslim Brotherhood
as well as ISIS in Sinai.
That might even bring benefits to the Gaza Strip itself
and allow a link for Palestinians with the Saudis.
It's really a wonderful move on Sisi's part.

What is still unknown
is whether the Islamist Turks
will succeed in building a Port in Gaza.
At the moment I believe
that the Israelis are resisting or stalling Erdoğan's overtures
who is probably to close to the Muslim Brethren
as well as the Hamas regime in Gaza.

Daniel Pipes replies:
