Reader comment on item: Tariq Ramadan Gives Up – Then Tries Again

Submitted by Rao (Canada), Dec 22, 2015 at 19:47

Some 12 years ago Tarek Ramadan was invited by Queens Univ. in Kingston, Canada, and he delivered two talks - one in the dept of religious studies and the other at Royal Military College.

I attended one at the university. His talk was on "tolerance" in Islam so that Canada can learn from Islam. He can massage his message to the inadequacy of knowledge of listeners. In those days, most Canadians were very naive about the Islam and its unsavoury parts in history,. One has to be careful about issuing a visa to anyone so that one does not engage in skillful propaganda. I found his talk was pretty hypocritical.

Canada does need to learn about democracy or religious tolerance from the Muslim holy book.
