I do not feel safer with the prospect of Tarik Ramadan back here, in the US

Reader comment on item: Tariq Ramadan Gives Up – Then Tries Again

Submitted by Carmen Waggoner, Ph.D. (United States), Jan 21, 2010 at 15:25

Dear Dr. Pipes,

Thank you for adressing the issue of Obama's "allegiance" to terrorist Islam. I have not read your blog yet, in order to first tell my position, and that of my husband, to the State Department: I expressed our belief that the State Department lied about the exclusion of Ramadan and invited the State Department and Obama to read the work of the expert on Middle East matters: Daniel Pipes. I ended my message with the demand of Obama's impeachment. This return of Ramadan confirms my belief that Obama's allegiance with his Arab/Muslim roots are real. I also did not forget to request that the State Department read your blog on Obama's use of the words "mutual respect"; perhaps this will cure the Obama's followers from their blindness.

Do you remember one of my earlier comments regarding Eugene Ionesco's play entitled "Rhinoceros"? The French playwright used the rhinoceros as the symbol of blindness, "la rhinocerite" was the word he coined to express the blindness of people who contaminate others with a mass hysteria-like movement, such as blind admiration for some leader. A similar movement led people to follow some leader, blindly accepting his tenets. Ionesco may have alluded to Hitler at the time.

Presently, Obama has not led, but misled the American People. His blindness toward radical Islam is blatant to the point of speaking "with both sides of his mouth" (expressing contradictory terms...lying). I believe the Independent movement is spreading in America, and is the voice of the people. I expect that those affected by "rhinoceritis" ("la rhinocerite") will retort with the term racism. However, rhinoceritis is color blind.

Again, thank you for teaching people what you know as a scholar of Middle Eastern matters. We have learned a lot from your writings; please continue to help us understand what is not disclosed by the Obama administration.
