Educate them and give them a chance

Reader comment on item: Can Hezbollah and Hamas Be Democratic?

Submitted by Thani Al-Shirawi (United Arab Emirates), Mar 22, 2005 at 12:00

Most of the members of these parties are hardly educated and follow the rhetoric. We should educate them and give them a chance to become normal citizens.

I think if we go back to history we will find a lot freedom fighters used to be called terrorists because they killed innocent people, such as Shamir the former prime minister of Israel who had killed the UN officer who was in-charge of keeping peace in Palestine. When Shamir succeeded and forced the Brits out, what was he called? Can you ask the grandchildren of that officer to forgive him? ...

We should give each other a chance & live together in Peace. I would like my son to go to Jerusalem and pray in the mosque in peace and having Jewish friends.

Let us stop provoking each other.
