Russo-Syrian lies a replay of 2006 Lebanon cease fire?

Reader comment on item: Forget Syria, Target Iran

Submitted by Brian Luedke (United States), Sep 10, 2013 at 08:58

On the Syria issue, Obama set out to show he is tough, so that Iran would take note and not continue on its trajectory of developing and employing nuclear weapons. After much bluster, wobbling, and confusion, B.H.O. now says he will probably settle for some lies and shenanigans from the Russian psychopath Putin and the Syrian tyrant. Man, that IS tough. I bet Iran has really learned a lesson now.

It reminds me of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, the ceasefire agreement that put an end to hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah in 2006, which supposedly would result in disarmament of Hezbollah under international oversight. How do you think that panned out? Of course, Hezbollah's stockpile of rockets is thought to be vastly greater today than it was in 2006. There is a reason why we rely on our own military and government to protect us, and not UN stooges under the influence of foreign tyrants.
