A marked advantage

Reader comment on item: Thoughts on the Release of 104 Palestinian Murderers

Submitted by Doug Mayfield (United States), Jul 27, 2013 at 20:29

I have to say, admittedly somewhat tongue in cheek, that at least these exchanges demonstrate a remarkable advantage for the Israelis in soldiers being captured and in Israel's ability to nail terrorists.

But I agree that these exchanges are a betrayal as Mr. Pipes notes and are also a serious long term mistake. Israel is the only country in the Middle East in which there is respect for freedom and individual rights. Those values must be defended and I don't think these exchanges do anything but harm that defense.
