Reader comment on item: Is Turkey in Europe?

with our islamist dictator sultan erdoğan, turkey must never be accepted to EU. turks dont consider themselves europeans, but also not arabs either. ı personally prefer to live in an independent turkey. EU laws are extremely difficult for us to adopt. with these kind of strict laws, economic development cant be possible so easy.

but europeans need turks simply because they need a big market to sell their products and they need young population . and turkey needs europe to develop its democracy and human rights. so these two are not in love with each other, but it is possible that some day they can make a logical marriage.
