Turkey Should Not Be in NATO

Reader comment on item: Is Turkey Leaving the West?

Submitted by Dave (United States), Feb 12, 2013 at 22:02

Here is an anti-Western, antisemitic, creeping (and creepy) theocracy, led by a hateful, authoritarian government that supports the worst islamo-fascist regimes. Yet, by being in NATO with Turkey, we are asserting that an attack on it is equivalent to an attack on us. Does that imply that America is some sort of authoritarian thugocracy that shares Turkish values, that we are brothers in arms? If so, I think it's time to consider emigrating since I could never support sacrificing American blood for a country I despise.
