7th October 1571

Reader comment on item: Post-Mortem on the Muhammad Protests
in response to reader comment: I promise to only do what's "right."

By coincidence the 7th October is the feast day of Our Lady of the Rosary, dedicated in gratitude to rosaries offered for victory against the Ottoman Turk fleet, which was decisively beaten on 7th October 1571 by a coalition of Catholic nations, thus preserving Christian Europe from Islamic domination. Perhaps this is a hint we should heed today: pray; fight, if you must; but don't offer cheap insults that others will pay for with their lives.

Also by coincidence, my letters of complaint would be enough to sink a galley ship.
