No compromise on free speech

Reader comment on item: Post-Mortem on the Muhammad Protests
in response to reader comment: the freedom of freedom (to EthanP)

Submitted by EthanP (United States), Oct 3, 2012 at 18:18

Ann; We may protest things that upset us. We demonstrate. We sue. Because when you have freedom, there will always be abuse. Those are the responses of civilized people. We don't riot. We don't murder. The near constant wave of bloodshed, of the most barbaric sorts show that the people doing it are not fit for civilized society.

Under NO circumstances am I willing to compromise our civil rights, our RIGHTS, to cater to a group of barbarians!
