Public opinion fluctuates

Reader comment on item: Palestinian Word Games

Submitted by R. Davidson (United States), Jan 4, 2005 at 12:49

I have been feeling mind boggled about "prime minister"
Abbas' contradictory and perhaps even outrageous
lies made, in his effort to win the campaign. I wonder
if the United States has deluded itself into thinking
that this man who gets on the shoulders (literally)
of a Palestinian terrorist is for real. But it is all a part
of the facade of lies that these people actively promote
and that you, Daniel Pipes, unmasks.

However, the truth is.. public opinon is like the wind
and it is actions that speak. I noticed that the Indonesian
Muslims are not turning down help from the United
States...help that other Muslim countries have not made
so forthcoming. And Bin Ladin's comments seem very
strident and shrill against the force of a tsunami. Maybe
he was hiding there...wishful thinking.
