Reader comment on item: Obama's Misplaced Mideast Optimism

It all depends on the basic assumptions concerning Obama's real intentions. Were he really deeply worried about the fate of Western Civilization in general and America's future in particular, then the conclusion of the article ("Obama and the Democrats will regret...") could be true. But if - as it becomes more and more evident - Obama's most importaif real goal is promotiong Islam and fighting the traditional Western values, then instead of regretting, he will be rejoicing.when Irak and Afghanistan will become Iran's protectorates.
