Bad timing

Reader comment on item: Obama's Misplaced Mideast Optimism

Submitted by Rebecca Moulds (United States), Oct 25, 2011 at 13:04

It was while I was living in Cairo that Bush announced that the US was about to go to war with Iraq. I was skeptical then, and have remained skeptical since. Now Obama is planning to pull our troops from Iraq by the end of the year. The travesty of this war has turned into tragedy for not just US troops but for Iraq. What a sad waste of human lives. It was better that we never got involved in Iraq, for I believe as Dr. Pipes writes, that our involvement "will have been for naught."
