I do not share the optimism of Dr. Pipes

I wish that Egypt would evolve into a free democracy. But there is no single example for that in the Islamic world - it cannot happen because Islam does not allow freedom in private life (brutal oppression to women, minorities etc.), and so of course it cannot be sustained at the state level. Regarding Egypt: it seems to me that the Muslim Brotherhood is the largest organized group, and as a result they will take over exploiting the vacuum and here we have a large scale Gaza. Alternatively (the optimistic scenario to my opinion) - the army will remain in power and will keep Egypt as a stable secular dictatorship. I hope I'm wrong, but I find it unlikely.
