Egypt's new leadership

Reader comment on item: Egypt's Chance

Submitted by Peter (United States), Feb 15, 2011 at 20:34

I am perplexed that barely anyone, including Dr. Pipes, has expressed any awareness of the likelyhood of Amr Mohammed Moussa's chances of becoming the new leader of the country. He has been the Secretary-General of the Arab League since 2001. Always wearing a suit, he appears to be packaged in the Western mode, at the same time has a virulent attitude toward Israel. His success would seriously undermine the peace treaty. With him being president, who would need the Muslim brotherhood?
