in response to reader comment: Violence in Christianity

Excellent! It is wonderful to have a knowledgeable blogger on this board. However, the Torah/Old Testament (they do differ) has numerous violent passages, and claiming that we must remember the time period, is the same argument Muslims make regarding the Qu'ran. In Matthew Jesus states: Think not that I have come to bring peace; I have come to bring the sword to drive father against son, daughter against mother, (paraphrased). This sounds violent to my ears.

Being an apologies for the Torah/Old Testament, The New Testament, The Qu'ran, The Hadiths is dangerous. There is right, and wrong, and in MHO, God earns a "F" on many counts. All monotheistic faiths call for misogyny, and the stoning of those who violate scripture. Thankfully, we have evolved to a secular government, but this is being threatened by Sharia Law.
