Reader comment on item: White Elephant in Baghdad

The Construction of this Embassy is insane. Better to move to a normal building indeed.

Just wondering, what companies cashed in the profits, b/c the complex, its existence is so insane that it makes me wonder whether or not it was another group of crooks pocketing our taxes.

Here at home schools are in huge financial problem and we are Re-building a hostile nation- that sooner or later, will be taken over by Iran. I do not believe a bit that occurred any progress towards democracy. We are talking about a nation whose majority are Muslims. They will never change.

Is there any hope they will thank us with Oil- or pay back with their Oil, for our lives and the way they helped us to bankrupt?

Nope. Americans are suckers, just hearing already the mullahs laughing on our faces. Now, financially speaking, we are even more vulnerable to Islamist attacks.
