Holding a human being prisoner for years without end (and if she was still in Saudi Arabia, she'd still be there) is the real crime - kidnapping and false imprisonment is the worst crime of all.

And this case is proof that absolute power absolutely corrupts. He should serve all 27 years - at least he knows when his punishment will come to an end.
