Zionism should be historical. Call it Israeli nationalism or simply Pro-Israel.

in response to reader comment: Are all supporters of Israel Zionists?

"belief in the existence of a Jewish state centered in Jerusalem"?

Believe in it? I have been there. I have pictures. That is why Zionism should be considered historical. Whether you love it, like it, hate it, or think it should be destroyed, the State of Israel as a homeland for Jews exists and thrives today.

I have heard it said that peace will come not when the Arabs agree that Israel should not be destroyed, rather when they accept that Israel cannot and will not be destroyed anytime in the foreseeable future.

The Palestinians and the Arab states do not have to accept the legitimacy of Israel as a Jewish State, or Spain as a Catholic State for that matter. But Israel must be recognized as a legitimate State, with all the rights for her defense and security.
