Scottish release of Megrahi

Reader comment on item: Counterterrorism in Obama's Washington
in response to reader comment: Scotland to release Islamist terrorist bomber of Lockerbie Pan Am Flight 103

Submitted by Martin Horan (United Kingdom), Sep 17, 2009 at 07:04

Most people in Scotland did not want Megrahi released. In fact, many of us were outraged and ashamed of it. The press here condemned it. Most of us would not mind if the US boycotted Scottish goods, because most of us like Americans. The BBC and ITN broadcasting do not. That are openly hostile to the US, because most of their "journalists" are left-wing and liberals. Our tabloids, read by the masses of people, generally support America (if not their governments) and are critical of Islam.

Actually, had the US boycotted Scottish goods it would waken the people here up to get rid of this ridiculous parliament in Edinburgh forced on us by Tony Blair. Most Scots wanted to remain British. Hardly surprising that Blair, Brown and Salmond kowtow to Islam. They themselves are anti-democracy as shown by how they thrust a parliament on us which no-one asked for or wanted, other than a small but very vociferous minority.
