A Man of Brilliance and Courage

Reader comment on item: The U.S. Institute of Peace Stumbles

Re: "The U.S. Institute of Peace Stumbles," my admiration for Daniel Pipes' briliance, insights and courage is exceeded only by my disbelief and, indeed, horror that our government still "doesn't get it." What disasters need to befall us before we realize that we are in an all-out war for survival. The response yesterday of the President that the U.S. is "troubled" by the assassination of the murderous head of Hamas is just the latest example of our government's unwillingness to face reality so as not to offend our gutless "allies" and pandering to the hometown Muslims. No one questions the U.S. "targeting" Bin Laden but Israel has no such basic rights. We will learn in time but it will be a costly lesson.
