Reader comment on item: Five Years of Campus Watch
in response to reader comment: Who's watching Columbia

Regardless of President Ahmadinejad's colorful rhetoric, and regardless of my or other's opinions of this rhetoric, Iran elects their president through a direct election (whose freedom and fairness can very well be disputed). Thus, President Ahmadinejad is not a "dictator". He was elected in August 2005, and will be up for reelection in 2009. Furthermore, CampusWatch is supposed to promote more academic free speech and reflection on the MIddle East., and is not the visit of a controversial head of a Middle Eastern state a living, breathing example of the promotion of academic free speech at a university?
