Israel seems to be slipping down an abyss. There is no upside to capitulating to terrorist organizations. History is replete with examples of such trade-offs doing nothing for civilized people. Threatening to kill Kuntar in Lebanon does nothing to redeem its recently acquired image of pusillanimity. Were such an endeavor to succeed, it will only result in a fresh round of kidnappings (and killings) by the terrorists.
