I don't think it's him

The guy in the old photo looks bigger than the diminutive tyrant Ahmadinejad. Look at the relative size of the men's hands. I can't stand the guy and have no trouble believing that he'd be involved in such an operation, but I don't think that the old photo is him.
There is a resemblance, especially in the nose, but not the same guy, IMHO.
