Daniel Pipes - he understands that the last holdout against the Progress of Western Civilization is Islam. Even South Africa will now not Stone homosexuals (as too many Muslims would).
Had Carter stood up to Iran & the Ayatollah, instead of letting them hold US hostages for 444 days or so, we probably would not have this Nuclear confrontation with reactionary Iran. Yes, installing & keeping the Shah as "king" was a mistake. But that was the Cold-War. But Carter's Policy is a disaster the world now suffers from.
The problem is that Islam cultures still cannot produce DEMOCRACIES--only DICTATORSHIPS or THEOCRACIES. How many centuries must Moslims pass-over before they produce a democracy--or even abolish PROHIBITION. Will it ever be possible for a Western tourist to sit in an outdoor cafe & sip a glass of wine while watching the pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia? And we have seen Movies of Moses and Jesus. Why can't we watch a beautiful film about the life of the Prophet Mohammed?
