9/11/06 Morning Edition has him described as the best hope for a moderate muslim fighting against the radicals. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=6041929 .

"Press his fellow muslims to press his fellow muslims to force hatred out of the mosques." "Drive that discourse out of our mosques".
